Nanjing was our first city. It is a 5.5 hour train ride on the high speed train. Nanjing means "Southern Capital". Hah, you just learned some Chinese. This used to be the capital for many of the dynasties before Beijing became the capital. There is so much history here. We both love history. The biggest reason we started with Nanjing is because Gary wanted to see the Zheng He museum. He was a great sailor in the early years of China.
I found a great hotel right near a subway entrance. It was easy to get where we needed to go. We did a lot of walking in Nanjing.
