We have started our new year in Qingdao and are having a very nice time with our new classes so far. However, we have decided that we have gotten in to a rut. We started to do this at the end of the school year last year. It seems that we are sometimes just going through the motions. Neither of us like this, so we have made a goal to try to start to improve ourselves and make this experience an adventure again. We want the excitement and the newness of being in Qingdao to come back into our hearts.
I decided that I need to get out more and walk around the city again. I used to do this last fall and early spring, but got out of the habit in the spring and summer. My goal is to go for a long walk at least 3 times a week.
Gary and I want to spend more time together outdoors, so we have made the goal to turn off the movies, computer and other electronic devices and spend time with each other without distractions. We also want to spend more time with our friends. We want to travel to new cities. Since neither Gary and I work on Fridays, we can take long weekends and go places we have not been before.
We started this on Saturday when we spent the morning hiking Fushan with two of our closest friends, Caroline and Abner. Then they made lunch for us. After lunch we went to Caroline's, new apartment and took a walk with her.
This is our apartment building. The one with the brown top on it.
Gary trying to fly.
I love getting on top of rocks now.

Today is Mid-Autumn Festival here. We celebrated with my boss, who is our friend, and his family. Fun dinner! We are also going to visit a friend in Weifang tomorrow! We are excited to try to experience more and make the most out of our life here in Qingdao. We are grateful to our Heavenly Father for allowing us to live here!
Remember, it's never to late to change yourself, enjoy life and thank the Lord for all you have and the opportunities you get.
