Birthday Plus 6

So my birthday week is almost up. My last day was Thursday the 26th. Gary wanted to get me a gift, but I didn't know what I wanted until after this day was over. I decided after my walk today that I want my own camera. He has convinced me that taking pictures is important and fun. I have not been very good at it, but while I was on my walk, with Gary's camera, I was always thinking about what Gary would want to see and what my friends at home would want to see. That is why I want my own camera. I will take pictures differently than Gary, so you can get both our perspectives. We did not get me a birthday gift because I also wanted to wait until we move to our new apartment before getting any more things.

So on my birthday plus 6, February 26, I took bus 316 to the end it's last stop, got off, walked down to the beach and then walked to Wusi Square or May 4th Square. I walked about 13 kilometers that day which is just over 8 miles. I surprised Gary at the bus stop. I wanted to take him to one of my favorite restaurants for dinner, but it was closed, so we just went home and had noodles. I did a lot of walking in my birthday week and again realized how much I love it.

Here is the city map. You can see Qingdao University to the right of the map. I took a bus all the way to the left side of the map and started walking at the point of the map where it says Xilingxia. I traveled near the beach the entire way stopping at some parks and actually walking across the beaches at Bathing Beach 6, 1, 2, and 3. It was an amazing walk. I saw many things. I saw a Coast Guard boat, sculptures and many other things. I walked to where the map says Mun. Gov. and met Gary there.

I walked along the path above from the far side to here.

The above picture is of the Navy Museum. We have not been there, but will go as soon as the building in the back is finished. They are adding many new exhibits in that building.

The Television tower. Still have not visit this, but will do so soon.

Below is May 4th Square. They are always flying kites there. The two above were flying that day at the square.

I loved celebrating my birthday plus 6 by taking this walk.
